Aloe Vera![]() |

Aloe Vera has become the byword for moisturising and healing. The Aloe Vera plant has been used for healing purposes for over 3500 years and is in fact mentioned no less than five times in the bible. There are approximately 400 different known varieties however, the variety which commonly grows in the Caribbean region is known as Barbadensis Miller. Also known as the 'Miracle Plant' Aloe Vera plant is, believed to have originated in North Africa and spread to other continents and countries by human cultivation.
Most botanists agree, and historical evidence suggests, that the Aloe Vera plant originated in the warm, dry climates of Africa. However, because the plant is readily adaptable, and because man has been so eager to carry it with him from place to place, it now can be found in many warm lands. In the United States, it is grown commercially in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, in California and Florida, and in specially-designed greenhouses in Oklahoma.
