Linolenic Acid![]() |
||||
The most concentrated sources of omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA and DHA, are fatty cuts of fish, such as mackerel, salmon, tuna, and sardines. Plant sources of linolenic acid include flaxseed oil, walnuts, and soybeans. Cod liver oil is another source of omega-3 fatty acids, and is high source of vitamins A and D. People taking large doses of either cod liver oil or fish oils should consider taking extra vitamin E to help protect these fats from rancidity. Linolenic acid and other omega-3 fatty acids can be destroyed when exposed to heat or light.
